Here’s one of the most inexplicable poet I’ve ever met.
Promise is a young writer, who is currently a final year student, studying Computer Engineering at the University of Benin (UNIBEN)
He stands as one of those unbiased souls who embrace the resplendence of art blended in science.
Poetry to him is mystifying. #indescribable
Paradoxically, he seems to be lost for words whenever he’s asked to describe ‘poetry’; the art which found him and made the bottom of his heart its aeonian abode.
Here’s a highly inspiring poem titled – Untitled
It’s called inspirational not just because the words in the poem are very deep! ..but because Promise, popularly known as Hon. Kay wrote the poem in a state of ostensible dryness, popularly known as ‘writer’s block’. A very terrible disease where words don’t just come,as the writer lays gasping for muse.
In this same state, Promise was able to pierce through the clogged up sphere, attaining the creation of this awe- inspiring poem.
U N T I T L E D
My desert winds are blowing me to stupor
And the sands upon which I’ve tarried for too long have built castles for my permanent sojourning
My heart’s walls are so charred from the scorch of my emptiness..
Drowning in the weight of my inability to dream.
But I’m more than willing to move
A maple door left ajar in my head,
My Libyan gift stuck at the border lines.
But I want a garden,
And I want to know;
For I now know what I want.
Senses slapped in by the monsoon winds,
And feelings escorted by winter.
Flood my heart with Eden’s evening dew,
For I crave Eve’s nighttime view.
Leaning beside that fang-shaped altar,
A confluence of my guilt and my pain.
Wild thoughts are catapulting through my veins
But they don’t get to my heart
And I don’t get to mouth their odd shapes.
I crave relief, I crave respite.
And I long for
My errors comfortably in the noose.
We look forward to seeing Promise go higher; soaring above all limitations…
